Who runs this site

BIMI World is a free educational project run by an individual, not a registered company. The individual running the site is responsible for its use of your personal data. For privacy questions or requests, email bimicert@gmail.com.

Optional analytics

With your consent, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand visits, traffic sources, pages read, engagement, scrolling, outbound links and file downloads. It uses cookie identifiers and technical information such as browser, device and approximate location. Google receives your IP address when requests are made; GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.

Google Analytics is not loaded before you accept, or on visits after you reject it. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled. We do not send tool inputs, search terms, names or email addresses to Analytics. Page URLs are sent without query strings or fragments, and referring URLs are reduced to their origin.

Google processes analytics data for us and may process it outside the UK. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s data-processing terms and transfer safeguards.

GA4 event-level data is retained for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. New activity can restart the user-data retention period. These settings do not limit standard aggregated reports.

Choose or change your preference

You can reject analytics and still use every part of the site. Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time to accept or withdraw consent. Changing your choice refreshes the page. Withdrawal stops future analytics collection and removes this site’s Analytics cookies; it does not undo processing that already took place.

Tools and security

The guide search, readiness assessment and record builder run in your browser. Their inputs are not sent to an external service or saved between visits. Hosting and security providers process technical details, including IP addresses and requests, to deliver and protect the site. This supports our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.

BIMI World newsletter signups

BIMI World stores your email address, signup page, consent wording, privacy notice version and the time you opted in in a private Cloudflare database. We use this information with your consent to maintain the list for future BIMI news and updates. We do not sell your address or use it for third-party marketing. No newsletter or confirmation emails are being sent during this collection stage, and addresses are not yet verified. You can withdraw using our online form or contact bimicert@gmail.com to request access, correction or deletion. Withdrawing stops future use for newsletters; we keep the record of your withdrawal to prevent accidental re-enrolment. Collection-stage records are deleted after 365 days. Cloudflare processes information to host and protect this service and may process it outside the UK. See the rest of our privacy notice for the site operator and your rights.

Consent is separate from analytics and is optional. Our signup form uses an unticked checkbox. We do not save your IP address in subscriber records or include your email in analytics. We use rate limits and a hidden form field to reduce automated submissions; Cloudflare may process technical request information for security.

Withdraw your newsletter consent or contact us about your information. Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy and data-processing terms.

BIMI Data observatory

The BIMI Data explorer sends your certificate search and filter choices to BIMI World’s data service, hosted by Cloudflare, to return matching public records. Search queries are not sent to Google Analytics. Our application does not save search queries or create visitor profiles; Cloudflare processes request information to operate and protect the service.

The observatory stores organisation names, domains and certificate metadata from public Certificate Transparency logs. Some public records may identify individuals or sole traders. We use this information to explain publicly observable certificate activity. Contact us using the address above with questions or concerns about a record.

Barry the BIMI Bot

Barry is an optional AI-assisted way to explore the certificate dataset. When you submit a question, we send its text, your current chart filters and the preceding question (if any) through our Cloudflare data service to OpenAI. Please do not include personal or confidential information. OpenAI interprets the request; the counts and written numerical answers come from our database.

The conversation stays in memory in your current browser tab, with up to six recent turns shown. Clear conversation or reload the page to clear it. We do not save chat transcripts in our database or send them to Google Analytics. We keep aggregate request counters to enforce usage limits, and Cloudflare processes request information for delivery and security.

We request that OpenAI does not store response application state. OpenAI may retain content in abuse-monitoring logs, normally for up to 30 days, subject to its documented exceptions. API content is not used to train OpenAI’s models by default. See OpenAI’s data controls. You can use all regular dashboard filters without using Barry.

Security cookies

The hosting service uses Cloudflare to help protect the website from automated abuse. The following cookie was observed on bimi.world when this page was last updated:

Additional security cookies may be used if Cloudflare presents a security check. Its cookie documentation explains these technologies and how they work.

Browser controls

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking security cookies may trigger extra checks or prevent pages from loading. Strictly necessary security cookies do not require consent; see the ICO’s guidance on the exceptions.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data, restrict or object to its use, or receive a portable copy. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time. Contact bimicert@gmail.com; we use correspondence to respond to your request and keep it only as needed to handle it. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

External websites have their own privacy practices. This page will be updated when the site’s data use changes.
